THE KAUTOKEINO REBELLION

For centuries northern Scandinavia has been inhabited by the native Sami people and their reindeer.  In 1852 Ruth the local liquor dealer controls the remote village of Kautokeino.  One of the native tribes led by a young woman Elen refuses to pay their unjust debt to Ruth.  This leads to one of the most dramatic episodes in Northern Scandinavian history.
